Job summary

Shelter House, Inc. is seeking a Case Manager to work with 10–20 families across Shelter, Prevention, and Rapid Rehousing programs. This role blends community-based work with shelter-based support to help families obtain and maintain housing, using a housing-first model and trauma-informed approach.

You will conduct needs assessments, plan services, link families to resources, and guide them toward self-sufficiency. Travel to housing viewings and coordination with landlords are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field is required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing priorities and work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop Housing First focused service plans tailored to each family.
• Identify new housing opportunities in Fairfax and nearby areas.
• Coordinate meetings and assist families in securing and maintaining housing.
• Link clients to services (employment, housing, finance) and budget coaching.
• Maintain client records and coordinate with landlords and service providers.
