Job summary

Shelter House is hiring a Case Manager to support 10-20 families across Shelter, Prevention and Rapid Rehousing programs. Based in Fairfax, this role uses housing-first and trauma-informed care to help families secure and sustain housing, linking to services and resources.

Responsibilities include assessments, planning, budgeting, liaising with landlords, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver timely services and maintain housing stability for families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in human services or related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing priorities and manage time effectively.
• Experience working with housing programs or homelessness services is a plus.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop Housing First focused service plans tailored to each family.
• Identify and pursue housing opportunities across Fairfax and nearby areas.
• Engage families with trauma-informed care and guide them toward housing stability.
• Coordinate meetings with shelter staff, service providers, and landlords as needed.
• Assist families in budgeting and understanding tenant rights and responsibilities.
• Maintain complete client records and ensure timely documentation.
