Job summary

Access to Healthcare Network is seeking a bilingual HIV Benefits Coordinator to help eligible clients enroll in health insurance plans and related services. The role requires processing premium payments, cost-sharing assistance, and ensuring program compliance while delivering excellent customer service.

The position reports to the Health Insurance Assistant Director and operates on-site in Reno, NV. Ideal candidates have at least one year in healthcare or human services and strong data-entry

Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree (AA) preferred.
• Minimum one year in healthcare, social services, or patient services setting; medical billing/insurance benefits experience preferred.
• Minimum one year of general office experience (data entry, filing, documentation, customer service).
• Minimum two years using databases and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, providers, partners, and staff.
• HIPAA familiarity and confidentiality.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and respect when serving clients, partners, and staff.
• Respond to phone, email, and written correspondence within 48 hours.
• Process client referrals within 48 hours.
• Orient and educate program participants on eligibility, benefits, and services.
• Monitor appointments and ensure program compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of Access programs and services.
• Track funding and process approved payments timely.
• Prepare and submit program reports by deadlines.
• Gather information to estimate costs for medical services.
• Develop knowledge of CPT codes, billing, and reimbursement processes.
• Utilize Access databases and systems to locate information and maintain records.
• Safeguard PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Build positive relationships with providers, members, and funding agencies.
• Ensure databases and client records are updated accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Nevada Check Up, and related programs.
• Schedule eligibility and enrollment appointments; provide follow-up support.
• Analyze and resolve issues with sound judgment and critical thinking.
• Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Attend staff trainings and supervisor meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of Mitel, Salesforce, and CAREWare.
