Job summary

Savista is seeking an Eligibility Specialist I to help uninsured and underinsured patients access financial assistance for medical care. You will conduct detailed assessments, guide patients through government and charity programs, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• At least 1 year in a customer-facing role.
• Willing to travel 0–15%.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate healthcare and government programs.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance.
• Assist with Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and charity care applications.
• Liaise between patients, hospital staff, and government agencies to establish eligibility and secure funding.
• Manage high caseload with deadlines and follow-up.
• Explain financial obligations and funding options to patients.
• Maintain confidential HIPAA-compliant records.
• Achieve productivity and quality metrics.
• Use multiple systems to track patient data.
• Assist with vacancy coverage.
• Complete special projects.
