Job summary

HealthWorks for Northern Virginia, a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center in Leesburg, is seeking a Front Desk Specialist. The role greets patients, assists with sign‑in and registration, verifies demographics, and helps schedule visits.

Spanish fluency is required; you will determine Sliding Fee Scale eligibility, collect copays, and support patient flow. Benefits include 401K, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, PTO and 10 paid holidays; NO WEEKENDS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish required.
• Recent health care setting experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and strong customer service.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and assists with sign-in and visit details.
• Assists patients with registration forms and updates demographic information.
• Reviews insurance information and assists patients as required.
• Determines eligibility for Sliding Fee Scale Discount Program and explains options.
• Initiates patient visits in eClinicalWorks and creates the patient superbill.
• Monitors patient flow from waiting room to provider, coordinates scheduling.
• Functions as Front Desk Specialist and addresses patient needs and concerns.
• Collects copays and assists patients with transportation as needed.
• Provides interpretation services as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
