Job summary

DuPage County Health Department is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide front desk support at the Central Public Health Center in Wheaton. You will gather and prepare paperwork, screen clients, and route referrals both in person and by phone.

Shifts include a variety of mornings and evenings with potential travel to other centers as needed. The role offers a starting wage of $15.77 per hour plus a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in customer service in human/social services is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• Attendance at paid New Hire Orientation is required.
• Good knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; some knowledge of medical terminology and filing systems; some knowledge of program requirements and eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Update client records and enter data into computer systems; revise addresses and phone numbers.
• Schedule appointments and ensure forms are signed; prepare forms and worksheets.
• Set up clinic rooms, process daily reports, monitor supplies, and coordinate replenishment.
• Assist clients with tests such as hemoglobin, blood pressure, and physical measurements.
• Obtain health histories through interviews; follow up on client status; close clinics.
• Maintain required training, licensure, or certification.
• Adhere to attendance guidelines and participate in emergency response activities.
• Maintain client privacy and confidentiality; respect diverse cultures and backgrounds.
