Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Service Representative in West Dundee to support front-desk operations. You will greet patients, register them in the EMR, coordinate scheduling, and handle calls while assisting billing and medical records in a busy clinical setting.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years of customer service experience. Familiarity with eClinicalWorks is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years related customer service experience.
• Experience handling difficult caller/patients.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients in EMR, verifies billing and demographics.
• Coordinates scheduling of patient appointments.
• Answers multiple telephone lines and routes calls.
• Distributes communications per practice protocol.
• Resolves patient questions on referrals, billing and tests; escalates when needed.
• Schedules tests and referrals; coordinates with hospital admissions and surgery as needed.
• Notifies care area of patient arrival and manages waiting patients.
• Verifies insurance type and eligibility.
• Performs other related duties.
