Job summary

Acacia Network is seeking a Family Specialist in New York, NY, to provide culturally competent, family-centered services. You will conduct intake, assessment, goal planning, and coordinate with providers to support healthy parent-child relationships and community integration.

The role involves office-based and/or support services, with supervision from the Program Director, and requires 1–3 years of relevant experience along with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Associate's degree with relevant experience accepted.
• 1-3 years’ experience working with the target population.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Assess social and psychological needs of families and children.
• Schedule and conduct monthly family sessions.
• Coordinate services and referrals for families and children.
• Monitor school performance and communicate with teachers.
• Lead psycho-educational workshops for families on topics like nutrition and mental health.
• Provide crisis intervention to prevent escalation of risk.
