Job summary

Acacia Network in Bronx, NY is seeking a Family Specialist to provide culturally competent, family-centered services. The role involves intake, assessment, goal planning, and coordination with service providers to support healthy parent-child relationships and community integration.

Under supervision of the Program Director, you will maintain case files, deliver counseling sessions, and facilitate parent education activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Associate’s degree required with relevant experience to client population.
• 1–3 years’ experience working with the target population.

Responsibilities

• Assess social and psychological needs of families and children living at home.
• Conduct monthly family sessions.
• Coordinate services, referrals, and goal planning for families and children.
• Monitor school performance and communicate with teachers and education professionals.
• Lead psycho-educational workshops for families on child rearing, nutrition, health, and mental health.
• Provide crisis intervention to prevent escalation of high-risk behavior.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred
