Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Case Manager in Greenville County to support SNAP and TANF programs. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish proficiency and a high school diploma with at least one year in Economic Services.

Responsibilities include bilingual interviews, eligibility determinations, case file maintenance, and interpreting for Spanish calls. The position emphasizes confidentiality, compliance with laws, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least 1 year in Economic Services programs.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, spoken and written.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts bilingual interviews for SNAP, TANF, ESAP and renewals by phone and in person.
• Serves as interpreter for Spanish calls and translates documents.
• Processes applications; determines eligibility and authorizes benefits when applicable.
• Maintains electronic case files with confidentiality and accuracy.
• Identifies overpayments and prepares referrals for the Benefit Integrity Unit; attends hearings as directed.
• Performs duties to protect PII and comply with laws, policies, and procedures.
• Participates in training and supervision meetings as required.
