  • Proficient with technology such as Microsoft Word & Adobe.
  • Must be comfortable interacting professionally with clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to track and meet deadlines.
  • Must be comfortable with a large and fast-moving caseload of various case types.
  • Experience in immigration law, removal defense strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the work of the attorneys in their representation of clients before EOIR, USCIS, BIA, District Courts, juvenile courts, etc.
  • Liaise with clients to obtain documents and information.
  • Draft pleadings, cover letters, declarations, motions, briefs.
  • Assemble evidence, compile applications / petitions for relief.
  • Conduct country conditions research.
  • Correspond with clients and potential clients.
  • Request records from various agencies.
  • Translate documents & Other duties as assigned.

BILINGUAL (Spanish) PARALEGAL POSITION We are seeking a second paralegal with a focus on removal defense as well as habeas corpus cases. Ideally this person has experience with immigration law & removal defense. Trostle Law is an immigration only law practice in NewOrleans,LA handling detained and non-detained cases, appeals, family based & consular matters, waivers, humanitarian relief, removal defense and habeas corpus cases. We are LGBTQI+ and woman owned. Currently we are a four-person team which includes two attorneys, one paralegal and an administrative assistant. This is an in-office position, located at 4902 Canal Street, NewOrleans,LA 70119. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday. Compensation is negotiable. Benefits include PTO & health insurance.
