Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• 1+ years in a customer-facing role.
• Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate multiple software systems.
• Clear, empathetic communication.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Occasional local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate, meeting with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance.
• Engage patients via phone outreach to facilitate cooperation and complete screenings and documentation.
• Guide patients through Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and hospital charity care applications, ensuring timely submission of documents.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and government agencies to secure coverage and resolve eligibility issues.
• Manage a high case load, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining KPIs.
• Explain financial responsibilities and assistance options clearly and empathetically.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Use multiple systems to document, track, and report patient information.
• Provide staffing coverage at nearby hospital locations as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
