Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Driver License Examiner to help ensure highway safety by evaluating the knowledge and driving skills of applicants while providing strong customer service at the Driver License Center.

Key duties include conducting driving, vision, and knowledge testing for commercial and noncommercial applicants, reviewing documents to verify authenticity, inspecting vehicles for safety features, processing license applications, and guiding applicants on renewals,

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant or equivalent Federal Government title.
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

Responsibilities

• Applicant Evaluation: Conduct driving, vision, and knowledge testing for commercial and noncommercial applicants.
• Document Review: Examine identity and eligibility documents to verify authenticity and detect possible fraud.
• Vehicle Inspection: Check vehicles for required safety features and determine appropriate tests based on vehicle characteristics.
• License Processing: Process applications, issue license products, and provide information on renewals, transfers, and endorsements.
• Customer Assistance: Communicate testing procedures, results, and requirements while following customer service policies.
• Compliance Duties: Follow all REAL ID rules, fee waiver guidelines, Title VI requirements, and safety procedures.
