Job summary

CSL in the United States is seeking an Apheresis Support Technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process, and to monitor the donor and process for alarms and safety.

You will use a PDA to record incidents, link equipment to donors, and ensure data is captured per SOPs. A high school diploma and at least 3 months in a medical setting are required; basic math skills are essential, and bilingual abilities may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff.
• Record incidents with PDA during pheresis (alarms, events).
• Use PDA to link equipment and supplies to the donor.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Record donor data in the donor information system per SOPs.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor, personnel and center data.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
