Job summary

CSL is seeking an experienced phlebotomy/apheresis support role to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. The role involves monitoring donors and the pheresis run, responding to alarms, and disconnecting the donor after completion.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma, 3 months in a medical setting, and basic math skills; confidentiality and safety compliance are essential. Bilingualism may be required in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process and responds to alarms or signals.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions and notifies staff as needed.
• Records incidents and donor data using the PDA and electronic donor information system.
• Links equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Ensures supplies and forms are available; follows HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
