Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a donor pheresis support technician responsible for preparing donors, equipment, and the pheresis setup. You will monitor donors, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate data entry in the donor information system.

The role requires basic math skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 3+ months in a medical environment; bilingual abilities may be needed to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA.
• Link equipment and consumables to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
