Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) seeks a Relief Dental Receptionist in Yakima, WA. The role is part-time, handling front-desk duties, patient check-ins, translation, scheduling, and insurance inquiries to support our dental clinic network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year's experience in a clinic, optometry or dental office preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required at a level 9.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Basic proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone, transfers calls and takes messages as needed for the clinic.
• Greets patients and maintains patient and visitor log; provides translation services as needed.
• Ensures accurate and complete data and forms are collected for all patients; creates and maintains patient charts.
• Schedules patient appointments according to scheduling guidelines and time needed; notifies Providers of no-shows and cancellations; updates schedule accordingly.
• Verifies patient's insurance eligibility and explains plans as needed.
• Responds to patients' questions in person, by phone, and through patient portals.
• Performs routine billing functions and generates end-of-day reports.
• Reviews cash box receipts and reconciles cash daily.
• Manages referrals from inception to completion and recall processes for preventive care.
• Ensures clinic documents are filed in patient records and treatment plan estimates collected.
