Job summary

Uber Freight in Laredo, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Specialist to assist clients with entry-related inquiries and CBP-compliant import documentation. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, with standard business hours at our Laredo office.

You will be the primary contact for clients on brokerage services, manage documentation, monitor tariff changes, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve shipment issues while maintaining accurate records and delivering timely updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite.
• 1–2 years of U.S. Customs brokerage, import operations, or trade compliance experience.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with multitasking ability and customer service focus.
• Ability to work independently, make rapid and accurate decisions in high-stress situations, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish with full professional proficiency in both languages.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding U.S. Customs brokerage services, including entry documentation, shipment status, and basic compliance inquiries.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation per CBP regulations, SOPs, and client requirements.
• Monitor tariff changes and regulatory updates, ensuring entries are processed correctly and escalated when necessary.
• Coordinate with operations, compliance, accounting, and carriers to resolve routine shipment issues and avoid clearance delays.
• Maintain accurate, well-organized records of entries and client communications in line with audit requirements.
• Provide timely shipment updates, status reports, and issue notifications to clients.
• Research routine questions and escalate complex issues to senior team members or compliance when appropriate.
• Communicate effectively in English and Spanish with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement by following processes and suggesting efficiencies.
