Job summary

Leyendecker Supply Chain Solutions in Laredo seeks an experienced Customs Entry Writer to manage entries, ISFs, and in-bond shipments with precision and speed.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in customs brokerage, a solid grasp of CBP rules, and proficiency in ACE, NetCHB, Descartes, or CargoWise, with strong customer service skills. This role requires independent work in a fast-paced environment, accurate record-keeping, and close coordination with customers, carriers, and agencies.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in customs brokerage or related logistics.
• Experience processing customs entries, ISFs, and in-bond shipments.
• Working knowledge of U.S. CBP regulations and import requirements.
• Experience with ACE/NetCHB/Descartes/CargoWise preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs entries accurately and on deadlines.
• Review invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, POs and other import documentation for accuracy.
• Classify merchandise using HTS, as applicable.
• Prepare and transmit ISF.
• Create, process, and monitor in-bond shipments.
• Ensure entries comply with CBP regulations and all import requirements.
• Apply tariffs and trade measures when required.
• Monitor shipment status and coordinate cargo releases and clearance.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve issues with customers.
• Communicate entry requirements and documentation to clients.
• Provide excellent customer service and onboarding of new customers.
• Prepare customer quotes and respond to requests for customs brokerage services.
• Prepare and process customer invoices and assist billing.
• Maintain accurate records of entries, shipments, billing, and communications.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, customers, and government agencies as needed.
• Identify and communicate potential compliance or service issues to management.
• Stay current on regulations and import/export procedures.
• Work efficiently with multiple shipments and deadlines.
