Job summary

Lukos in Estancia, NM seeks a Custody and Removal Coordinator to support ICE detainee facilities. You will assist with detainee needs, coordinate accommodations, and help ensure safety and compliance.

You bring at least 2 years of relevant experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and a bachelor’s in Social Work or Psychology. This full-time role requires sensitivity, crisis understanding, and strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in related experience (e.g., victim services, trauma-informed programming, immigrant services).
• Experience in or with victims or individuals in confinement or custodial settings.
• At least 2 years of experience providing services to vulnerable populations.
• Experience with and understanding of family/individual stress, problems and crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist detainees with needs, requests, and complaints regarding non-officer or immigration case related issues.
• Assist ERO officers with addressing noncitizen requests related to parent/child communication and/or child welfare involvement.
• Coordinate on-site support of disability accommodations with detention facilities upon submission of a Disability Accommodation Notification to ERO HQ.
• Assist ERO and detention facility staff to facilitate compliance with agency policies and detention standards; communicate with detained noncitizens.
• Address questions about noncitizens, including available services.
• Provide noncitizen referrals to appropriate ERO/detention staff for care and follow-up.
• Support noncitizens with specialized needs and conduct wellness checks and follow-ups.
• Meet with newly detained noncitizens to answer questions and provide orientation to CRC services.
• Support specialized housing units and programs for vulnerable populations.
