Job summary

A&H Concrete Services is seeking a diligent Bookkeeper to oversee financial operations in our Northern California office. You will maintain general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly statements, while ensuring accurate timekeeping and job costing for construction projects.

You will use Sage 50 for all bookkeeping and payroll functions, prepare reports for management, and assist with budgeting, compliance with prevailing wage laws, audits, and cost control.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and payroll compliance.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting: maintain general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Payroll Management: weekly payroll processing and ensuring timely payments.
• Prevailing Wage Compliance: ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and prepare necessary reports.
• Timekeeping & Attendance: manage timekeeping systems and resolve discrepancies in hours and job costing.
• Sage 50 Management: use Sage 50 for all bookkeeping and payroll functions.
• Compliance & Auditing: assist audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Budgeting & Cost Management: support budgeting and monitor project costs.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Payments: review invoices and allocate payments to jobs.
• Collaboration & Bilingual Communication: work with project managers and communicate in English and Spanish.
