Responsibilities

• Maintain vendor accounts and process vendor invoices.

• Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other project-related expenses.
• Assist with construction project billing and financial reporting.
• Maintain organized documentation for vendors, subcontractors, customers, and projects.
• Prepare reports for management as requested.

• Work closely with management to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

Location: Sacramento, CA 95815 Job Type: Full-Time, In-Office Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Construction Bookkeeper to join our team in Sacramento. This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced with the accounting needs of a construction company.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3–4 years of hands‑on QuickBooks experience along with construction accounting/bookkeeping experience. We are looking for someone who understands the unique financial processes involved in the construction industry and can confidently manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping responsibilities with accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of QuickBooks experience
• 3–4+ years of construction accounting and/or construction bookkeeping experience
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
• Experience reconciling bank and credit card accounts
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesComfortable working independently and taking ownership of bookkeeping responsibilities
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general office software
• Construction accounting/bookkeeping experience is required for this position.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

This is an in-office position located in Sacramento, CA 95815. Remote work is not available for this role.

Compensation

$60,000–$75,000 per year, based on relevant construction bookkeeping/accounting experience and qualifications.
