Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking a Retail Sales & Merchandising Manager to lead sales performance, develop associates, and deliver an exceptional customer experience in a large-format technology retail environment.

This hands-on leader role requires managing sales, merchandising, operations, inventory, and teams within a major big-box retail setting, with responsibilities spanning coaching, recruitment, and store leadership collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail leadership experience
• Experience in a high-volume, 30,000+ square-foot retail environment
• Consumer electronics or commissioned sales experience is strongly preferred
• Proven experience driving sales, managing teams, merchandising, operations, freight flow, inventory, and customer service
• Strong background in hiring, training, coaching, developing, and retaining employees
• Ability to analyze sales reports and business performance and take action to improve results
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, training, or business needs
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the sales floor for the duration of the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a high-performing retail sales team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales goals.
• Ensure associates engage customers and recommend the right technology solutions.
• Drive performance in customer satisfaction, sales, productivity, payroll, and expenses.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop supervisors and sales associates.
• Partner with store leadership to align sales, operations, service, and merchandising.
• Serve as Manager-in-Charge when senior store leadership is unavailable.
• Oversee visual merchandising, promotional execution, advertising sets, and store presentation standards.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to improve sales results and customer satisfaction.
• Review sales reports and P&L performance with store leadership and implement improvement plans.
• Manage freight flow, merchandise processing, inventory control, cycle counts, and assets.
• Maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.
• Partner with HR to address employee relations and staffing matters.
