Job summary

Mohegan Sun in Connecticut seeks a Beverage Supervisor to oversee daily beverage department activities and VIP lounges, ensuring adherence to policies and steps of service. You will train staff, monitor service, and manage lounge appearance and safety.

The role requires knowledge of liquor laws and experience in a high-volume casino, with shifts and a fast-paced environment. Regulatory training and daily operational oversight are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Beverage Server, Bartender or Butler in a high volume, complex casino environment.
• Excellent knowledge of state liquor laws including proper identification procedures, monitoring levels of intoxication, intervention strategies, refusal of service and shutoff procedures

Responsibilities

• Assists in the training, evaluating and scheduling of the beverage staff
• Maintains the overall appearance of lounges which includes sanitation control, overall food presentation and quality, food transfers and requisitioning of supplies and beverages
• Controls access to the lounges and guest amenities in the absence of upper management
• Consistently monitors patrons checking levels of intoxication and applies refusal of service and shutoff procedures, if necessary
• Maintains all par levels of china, glass, silver, paper, plastic and restaurant supplies
• Works with Stewarding and EVS to maintain health, safety and sanitation guidelines
• Works with Engineering to maintain the outlet’s furniture, fixtures and physical layout
• Assists with on-going coaching programs with line employees to enhance skills
• Recommends hiring as well as termination decisions in conjunction with the disciplinary process

• Must complete the Core Supervisor training program
• Knowledge of Ascent and EmpowerTime systems
• SMART alcohol awareness

• Knowledgeable in point of sale system, Stratan Warren, Word, Excel and Lotus Notes
• Excellent knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes and all beverage service techniques
• Excellent knowledge of the overall property and gaming floor
• Complete knowledge of the shift bidding process
