Job summary

Mohegan Sun is seeking a bartender/server to deliver beverages to guests in a fast-paced, high-energy setting. You will handle drink orders, follow established service steps, and ensure compliance with state liquor laws and ID procedures.

The role requires maintaining clean outlets and supporting bar staff throughout shifts. Ideal candidates will have prior bartending or cocktail-serving experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in bartending or serving cocktails in a full service restaurant, lounge or showroom/nightclub.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws including ID checks and refusal procedures.
• Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Takes drink orders and serves guests promptly following steps of service.
• Clears glassware and maintains clean work areas.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with established department policies, procedures and steps of service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes drink orders from the guests and delivers them in a timely manner, following the established steps of service
• Clears dirty glassware, plates and silverware from the patrons
• Consistently applies knowledge of the state liquor laws, proper identification procedures, monitoring levels of intoxication, intervention strategies, refusal of service and shut off procedures
• Sets up dining room, lounges and other operational stations according to established procedures

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the outlet
• Assists the bartender, as needed
• Performs opening and closing duties
• Communicates with management on inventory and maintenance needs

Minimum Education And Qualifications

• Experience in bartending or serving cocktails in a full service restaurant, lounge or showroom/nightclub

Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of operational policies with regard to hours of operation, types of menus offered, restaurant concepts and marketing programs
• Thorough working knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws including proper identification, refusal of service and shut off procedures
• Skills in proper tray handling, ordering and garnishing of all beverages

Training Requirements

• Outlet-specific standard operating procedures
• SMART alcohol awareness

Physical Demands And Work Environment

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to bend and lift full beverage trays of up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
