Job summary

Bally’s in Chicago is hiring a server to provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will greet guests, recommend menu items, handle POS and payments, and maintain bar safety and sanitation standards.

The position requires 21+ with a gaming license, a high school diploma, and at least 6 months of related experience; open availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Illinois Gaming Board.
• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have six months or more related experience.
• Must be able to open work availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Arrive on time in full uniform and participate in pre-shift meetings.

Responsibilities

• Foster an environment that embodies Bally’s Born to Entertain philosophy by creating a fun-filled, entertaining atmosphere
• Enthusiastically promote Bally’s customer-centric culture of offering superior guest service and actively building long-lasting guest relations
• Serving customers as part of a team by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice and remembering that “the customer is always right”
• Performing table set-up, running side work, and closing duties
• Possessing extensive knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and wine list, including daily specials
• Checking identification to ensure customers meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages
• Checking identification to ensure customers are using players cards issued to them and no one else
• Participating in area clean up
• Computing customer checks, operates the POS system and accepts payments
• Reporting tips for each shift
• Maintaining bar safety and sanitation standards
• Possessing awareness of potential hazards, which could cause, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, falling or burns
• Arriving for each shift on time and in full uniform
• Attending all pre-shift meetings ready to “listen and learn” and share ideas
• Avoiding leaving work area during peak periods
• Taking breaks only when approved by the Manager
• Keeping a clean and professional appearance at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned
