Job summary

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the largest beverage distributor in North America, seeks an Area Manager in the Springfield, MO area to lead a sales team and drive territory strategy. You will manage relationships with customers and suppliers, coach staff, and ensure revenue growth across a wide territory.

The role emphasizes leadership, sales execution, and program implementation with a focus on customer-centric service, teamwork, and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree plus three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of beverage alcohol products, SGWS portfolio, and key product features and benefits.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage a team of sales consultants; evaluate performance against goals.
• Develop territory sales plans to achieve goals and objectives for unique customer segments.
• Create regular team meetings to communicate the territory plan and priorities.
• Coach consultants on pre-plan effectiveness, agenda, and visit notes.
• Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and enhance product knowledge.
• Assess talent, hire staff, and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
• Analyze and manage team expenditures to fit budget.
