Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems to lead large EPC initiatives with cross‑functional teams and tight budgets. You will manage schedules, risks, and safety across utility‑scale and behind‑the‑meter deployments, traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
• 8+ years of experience managing large, multi‑faceted electrical projects.
• Experience with different contractual models.
• Strong financial and commercial management skills.
• Proficiency with SAP, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel 25%+ domestically and internationally.
• Knowledge of BESS project delivery and relevant codes (IEEE 1547/2800, NEC, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A).

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project execution plans, scope, schedules, and deliverables.
• Own project financial performance including budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Lead risk and opportunity management to support outcomes.
• Manage project scope, changes, claims, negotiations, and approvals.
• Coordinate procurement strategies with Supply Chain and subcontractors.
• Provide project reporting to ensure clear communication and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee project quality, non-conformities, and audits.
• Work with EHS to develop and enforce safety plans.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
