Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large EPC projects within the Grid Integration and BESS business, delivering on schedule, budget, quality, and safety.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to achieve project goals. You will manage project execution planning, risk, procurement, reporting, and safety plans, while driving financial performance and stakeholder engagement to support energy transition

Qualifications

• Candidate must already have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
• 8+ years of experience managing large electrical projects, including mega projects.
• Experience with different contractual models.
• Strong financial and commercial management skills.
• Proficiency with SAP, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; travel 25%+ domestically and internationally.
• Knowledge of BESS project delivery and industry codes/standards (IEEE 1547/2800, NEC, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A, AHJ permitting).
• Substation, switchyard, or brownfield project experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project execution plans, scope, schedules, and resource plans.
• Own project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, margins, and health.
• Lead risk and opportunity management activities.
• Manage scope, changes, claims, negotiations, and approvals per contract.
• Coordinate procurement strategies and supplier/subcontracting activities.
• Serve as primary customer contact and provide project reporting.
• Coordinate quality activities and support audits.
• Work with EHS teams to enforce safety plans during execution.
• Ensure compliance with external/internal regulations and guidelines.
