Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC. in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Senior Lead Project Engineer to drive technical execution for Battery Energy Storage Systems and related renewable projects.

You will lead design reviews, configure SCADA and control systems, and coordinate with supply chain and customers from concept through commissioning. The role requires a power systems background, 5+ years in energy storage/power electronics, and experience with SCADA protocols; you’ll work in a collaborative, fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in power systems, energy storage, or power electronics.
• Experience with SCADA systems and communication protocols (Modbus, DNP).
• Strong technical aptitude in electrical engineering and industrial software; ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of BESS and renewable energy projects.
• Review and approve design deliverables and project documentation.
• Configure control systems and SCADA software for energy applications.
• Support proposal development and respond to RFIs and RFPs.
• Collaborate with supply chain to evaluate and approve technical solutions.
• Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Interface with customers to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
• Share technical knowledge and support internal training and testing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
