Job summary

Wayne Farms is seeking an Employee Benefit Specialist to serve as the central contact for LOA, FMLA and disability leaves. This role supports HR leadership, enters leave data, and helps with benefit enrollment and communications.

The successful candidate will have HR generalist experience, familiarity with Workday, and strong English communication skills. This is an on-site position in Kinston, NC, with opportunities to improve HR processes and employee engagement.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of HR generalist experience with leave administration.
• Experience with FMLA/ADA is highly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Workday or similar HRIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage FMLA, disability and personal leave tasks per policy and legal requirements; enter dates in system and follow up on discrepancies.
• Serve as point of contact for employees and plant leaders on leaves and benefits; assist with claim resolution and benefits questions.
• Update enrollment, marital status and dependent verification in Workday; coordinate with Corporate Benefits as needed.
• Coordinate with Safety/EHS on workers' compensation claims; ensure data and documentation are complete.
• Facilitate communication between carrier and employee for leave approvals and benefit enrollment.
• Lead coordination of open enrollment events and inform employees of changes to benefit plans.
• Educate employees on benefit plans and enrollment opportunities; support HR initiatives and engagement projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency in benefits administration.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
