Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking an Employee Benefit Specialist to coordinate FMLA, disability and personal leave, while supporting benefits enrollment and HR-related duties. The role involves keeping leave data accurate, assisting employees and plant leaders, and collaborating with corporate benefits and payroll teams.

The position requires experience in HR generalist duties, familiarity with Workday, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a human resources generalist environment.
• Experience in leave administration with knowledge of FMLA and ADA.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Workday or similar HCM system preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written); multilingual abilities preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee FMLA, Disability and personal leave tasks per Company policies and Federal, State and local legal requirements.
• Enter leave and return to work dates in appropriate system and follow up on inconsistencies or missing documentation.
• Act as point of contact for employees, corporate benefits and plant leaders; respond to benefit questions concerning leaves, 401(k), or other welfare programs.
• Assist employees with claim resolution, electronic processes and understanding benefit plan design when needed.
• Update, research and resolve enrollment, marital status and dependent verification discrepancies in Workday; coordinate with vendors and payroll as needed.
• Partner with Corporate Benefits on open enrollment events and revised programs; lead meetings and ensure employees are informed about changes.
• Educate employees on benefit plans and enrollment opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
