Job summary

Wayne Farms is seeking an Employee Benefit Specialist to centralize LOA, FMLA and disability leave administration. You will manage leave data, assist HR managers, and support benefits-related inquiries while maintaining accurate employee records.

The role requires strong communication skills, confidentiality, and familiarity with Workday and benefits processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR generalist duties with focus on leave administration and FMLA/ADA knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication for internal/external customers.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee FMLA, Disability and personal leave tasks per Company policies and legal requirements; enter leave and return to work dates in appropriate system and follow up on inconsistencies.
• Act as point of contact for employees, benefits and plant leaders; respond to benefit questions and assist with enrollment and claim resolution.
• Update and resolve enrollment, marital status and dependent verification discrepancies in Workday; coordinate with Corporate Benefits as needed.
• Partner with Safety/EHS on Workers Compensation claims; ensure data is entered correctly and documentation is collected.
• Serve as liaison between carrier and employee to facilitate information exchange and enrollment or verification processes.
• Coordinate open enrollment events; lead meetings and ensure employees are informed about changes to benefit plans.
• Educate employees on benefit plans and enrollment opportunities; support HR initiatives and employee engagement projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to streamline HR workflows and increase efficiency.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
