Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking an Employee Benefit Specialist to be the central point for LOA, disability, and FMLA matters. The role supports the HR Manager and plant leadership while ensuring accurate leave data and compliant documentation.

You will manage enrollment verification in Workday, assist employees with benefits questions, and collaborate across Benefits and Safety/EHS to resolve claims and communicate program changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a human resources generalist environment.
• Experience in leave administration with knowledge of FMLA and ADA legal requirements.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; multilingual abilities preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage FMLA, Disability and personal leave tasks per policy and law; enter leave and return-to-work dates.
• Serve as the point of contact for employees and benefits questions; assist with enrollment and claim resolution.
• Update enrollment, marital status and dependent verification in Workday; coordinate with Corporate Benefits as needed.
• Partner with Safety/EHS on Workers' Compensation claims; ensure documentation is collected.
• Act as liaison between carrier and employee to facilitate leave, enrollment and verification processes.
• Lead open enrollment events and communicate changes to benefit plans.
• Educate employees on benefit plans and enrollment opportunities; support HR initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
