Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking an Employee Benefit Specialist to manage FMLA, disability and personal leaves, and support benefits enrollment and question resolution. You will handle leave data, verify statuses, and liaise between employees and benefits providers, while assisting HR with related duties.

The role requires at least one year in HR generalist work with leave administration knowledge, strong communication, and confidentiality. A fast-paced environment and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a human resources generalist environment, with leave administration knowledge of FMLA and ADA preferred.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Workday knowledge preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; multilingual abilities preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage FMLA, Disability and personal leave tasks per company policies and legal requirements; enter leave data and follow up on inconsistencies.
• Serve as a point of contact for employees, benefits, and plant leaders; respond to benefit questions and assist with claims.
• Update enrollment, marital status and dependent verification in Workday; coordinate with Corporate Benefits when needed.
• Coordinate with Safety/EHS on Workers' Compensation claims and ensure documentation is complete.
• Act as liaison between carrier and employee for information exchange and documentation.
• Lead open enrollment events and communicate changes to benefits plans to employees.
• Educate employees on benefit plans and enrollment opportunities; support HR initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR on employee engagement projects and process improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
