Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Benefits Specialist to assist with administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and PTO programs. You will handle leave management, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and support enrollment, open enrollment, and inquiries.

You will coordinate with payroll, participate in new employee orientations, and handle documentation and reporting for benefits and leaves. Strong confidentiality and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR or related field (or equivalent).
• 2+ years HR experience preferred.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Willing to train and learn a full range of duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with enrollment in benefits programs as needed.
• Coordinate benefits and open enrollment.
• Process Leaves of Absence (FMLA, PLOA), maintain documentation.
• Respond to benefit inquiries.
• Co-facilitate monthly new employee orientation.
• Coordinate payroll deduction verification with the payroll coordinator.
• Prepare benefits termination paperwork.
• Process workers' compensation claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
