Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and PTO programs, including leave management and compliance with federal regulations.

You will enroll employees, coordinate with providers, handle inquiries, and assist with open enrollment. The role also includes processing leaves, payroll deductions review, workers' compensation, and termination paperwork in a full-time capacity.

• Willing to train and learn a full range of skills related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with enrollment in benefits programs as needed.
• Coordinate benefits with employees and providers, including open enrollment.
• Process Leaves of Absence (FMLA, PLOA, etc.) and maintain documentation.; respond to requests.
• Handle inquiries regarding benefit plans.
• Co-Facilitate monthly new employee orientation.
• Coordinate and verify payroll reports to ensure accurate deductions.
• Prepare benefits-related termination paperwork (e.g., Certificates of Insurability).
• Process Workers' Compensation claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
