Job summary

The Salvation Army in Southfield, MI is seeking a Benefits Specialist to administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and PTO programs, oversee leave management, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include enrolling employees, coordinating with providers, processing leaves, answering benefit questions, and supporting payroll deductions accuracy. Requires an Associate degree and 2+ years in HR, with strong Office 365, HRIS, ATS, TEAMS, and SharePoint skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human resources, business management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in human resources preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enroll employees in benefits programs and coordinate open enrollment.
• Coordinate benefits with providers and oversee payroll deductions accuracy.
• Process Leaves of Absence (FMLA, PLOA) and maintain documentation.
• Respond to benefit inquiries and assist with new employee orientation.
