Job summary

WellLife Network in New York seeks an EES Specialist to manage benefit applications and appeals, acting as a liaison between consumers and government agencies. The role focuses on providing options and explaining financial implications for individuals and families.

The position requires an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred), strong communication, and experience with mental health populations, plus a valid NY driver’s license and vehicle for company use.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Must exercise good follow-up and documentation skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Work experience with Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities populations is required.
• Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and possession of a vehicle for use on company time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality in respect to HIPAA laws at all times.
• Screen consumers to assess eligibility for private and governmental benefits.
• Assist consumers in completing applications to apply, appeal, and maintain benefits.
• Travel to governmental/private agencies for hearings and interviews.
• Be knowledgeable of the consumer’s financial status.
• Prepare consumer allowances and narrative; maintain spreadsheets and reports.
• Review, process, scan, document and file all incoming mail/documents.
• Notify department members of emergencies and assist in staff shortages.
• Maintain accurate information in the department database system.
• Provide in-service training to staff and external agencies as needed.
