Job summary

Summit Medical Group in Knoxville, TN is seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Coordinator to administer employee benefits across the lifecycle. You will help employees enroll, handle life events, manage premium payments, and ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with HR, Payroll, carriers, and vendors while maintaining benefit records, supporting ACA reporting, COBRA, and open enrollment activities.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll, HR, or related field.
• Knowledge of health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
• Working knowledge of ACA regulations and benefits administration requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Ability to collaborate with HR, Payroll, insurers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Benefits Manager with administration of employee benefit programs.
• Explain benefits enrollment system and conduct orientations as needed.
• Set up and administer monthly enrollment and annual open enrollment activities.
• Maintain accurate benefits records and process changes in payroll.
• Process life event enrollments and payroll deductions related to benefits.
• Upload and monitor vendor EDI files for health plans and accounts.
• Assist employees with benefit-related claims and COBRA matters.
• Prepare census and other benefits-related data reports.
