Job summary

Summit Health seeks a highly organized Workers’ Compensation Coordinator to schedule WC appointments, coordinate referrals, and work with payers, employers, and patients to obtain pre-authorizations. The role involves data entry in Athena and Salesforce, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate record-keeping.

You will collaborate with multiple departments and vendors to ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-focused service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Public Health, Business, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Experience with patient scheduling and call centers is preferred.
• Experience managing Workers’ Compensation appointments and coordinating with payers is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Athena/Epic/Referwell systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented and patient-focused.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Workers’ Compensation appointments timely and coordinate referrals.
• Obtain initial authorizations to treat and pre-authorizations for advanced orders from payer contacts.
• Build patient Athena chart and ensure policy alignment and accurate data linkage.
• Verify completion of Workers’ Compensation intake forms pre-visit and update records as needed.
• Communicate with patients and payer contacts via phone and email professionally.
• Conduct outbound calls to employers, adjusters, and nurse case managers regarding referrals and scheduling.
• Handle inbound calls and emails from employers, adjusters, nurses, and patients regarding referrals and appointments.
• Review cancelled appointments and coordinate rescheduling with relevant parties.
• Collaborate with Summit Health offices not following centralized workflows.
• Utilize Salesforce and Referwell to manage referrals and special instructions.
• Track all referral activities and appointment status across systems.
