We are looking for the right person to join our busy, but friendly, nonprofit. The Benefits Coordinator reports to the Client Benefits department, and is responsible for guiding individuals with special needs, their advocates, and professionals through the application and recertification process for SSI-Related Medicaid programs. This position focuses on Medicaid programs serving aged and disabled individuals, not family-related Medicaid. Responsibilities include preparing and tracking Medicaid applications and recertifications, gathering and reviewing supporting documentation, researching Medicaid eligibility rules, responding to DCF requests, and monitoring ongoing eligibility. This position offers an opportunity for growth. As knowledge and experience develop, the Benefits Coordinator may assume increased responsibility for complex cases, quality review, providing training to internal departments and other professionals, process improvement, and departmental leadership. This position does not currently have direct supervisory responsibility. As the employee develops knowledge and experience, responsibilities may expand to include training, mentoring, quality review, workflow coordination, and other departmental leadership functions.
This role operates in an in-office capacity. The incumbent routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
