Job summary

Avant Specialty Benefits is seeking a Benefits Specialist to help individuals navigate their benefits with clarity. This hybrid role is based in our Kansas City Crossroads office and emphasizes collaboration, service, and thoughtful solutions that improve the benefits experience.

You will handle enrollments, onboarding, life events, eligibility inquiries, and data accuracy while maintaining knowledge of plans and underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Active Life & Health Insurance license required.
• 2-4 years HR or Employee Benefits experience required.
• Knowledge of benefit plans and administration is a plus.
• Telephonic customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process employee benefit enrollments according to client agreements.
• Provide phone-based support for enrollments, onboarding, life events, eligibility, and inquiries.
• Serve as a Service Advocate for clients and internal teams.
• Contribute to developing and improving processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain product knowledge, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Navigate elections across benefits administration systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for timely information flow.
• Support teams and brokers with special projects and ongoing operational needs.
