Job summary

Avant Specialty Benefits in Kansas City is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support employee enrollments and client inquiries. This hybrid role combines collaboration with a service-driven team and hands-on benefits administration.

You’ll manage enrollments, maintain knowledge of plans, ensure data accuracy, and work with brokers and internal teams to provide clear, confident guidance. A Life & Health license and 2–4 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of HR or Employee Benefits experience.
• Active state Life & Health Insurance license required.
• Benefits knowledge, principles and practices as applied to daily responsibilities.
• Strong problem solving, root cause analysis and improvement skills.
• Workflow, processes and compliance in benefits administration.

Responsibilities

• Process employee benefit enrollments according to client agreements.
• Provide phone-based support for enrollments, onboarding, and inquiries.
• Serve as a Service Advocate for clients and internal teams.
• Contribute to developing and improving processes for efficiency.
• Maintain detailed product knowledge, documentation and guidelines.
• Navigate elections across benefits administration systems.
• Ensure data accuracy and uphold quality assurance standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for timely information flow.
• Participate in enrollment trainings and document case details.
• Support internal teams, clients, and brokers with special projects.
