Dahl Consulting in Detroit Lakes, MN is seeking a Benefits Support Specialist to join a collaborative HR team. You will support administration, communication, and maintenance of employee benefit programs, helping employees navigate enrollments, eligibility, claims, and plan options.

The role emphasizes accurate recordkeeping, regulatory compliance (ACA/HIPAA/ERISA), and coordination with vendors. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of handling confidential

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service and employee support skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Problem-solving skills for employee concerns.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Benefits Administration: Assist enrollment, changes, and termination of benefits, maintain accurate benefits records, and support ACA reporting.
• Employee Support: Respond to benefit questions; educate on options and eligibility; assist with claims issues.
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with insurance carriers and benefit vendors; track claims and service concerns.
• Compliance & Documentation Support: Assist with ACA, HIPAA, ERISA compliance and regulatory filings.
• Benefits Communication & Training: Develop and distribute open enrollment materials and training.
• Open Enrollment Support: Guide employees through annual elections and ensure documentation is complete.
• Reporting & Administrative Support: Prepare enrollment, utilization, and cost reports; support leave processes.
