Job summary

Weber School District in Ogden, Utah (onsite) seeks a Human Resources Specialist to administer key leave and accommodation programs and serve as the primary contact for employee questions related to benefits, eligibility, and compliance.

This role will manage FMLA, ADA accommodations, STD/LTD, workers’ compensation, and retirement benefits; coordinate with payroll; and support open enrollment and communications district-wide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and employee benefits laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage FMLA, paid parental leave, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation leave, and district retirement benefits.
• Coordinate with payroll to ensure employees on FMLA, parental leave, STD/LTD, and workers’ compensation are paid correctly.
• Support open enrollment, benefits fairs, and presentations as part of HR ESP coordination.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries on leaves, accommodations, and benefits with timely, professional guidance.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations including HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, PWFA, workers’ comp, and parental leave.
• Create and distribute communications explaining FMLA, ADA, parental leave, and related information.
• Maintain accurate records on FMLA, ADA, parental leave, workers’ compensation, and program details.
