Job Purpose:- The Behavioral Tech II position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned unit(s). They will, by virtue of their role, have primary consumer contact and, in that role, will have influence on consumer treatment and progress. As such, Behavioral Techs are professional staff members with responsibility for supervision and assistance in daily living skills, ensuring safety and well-being of consumers, as well as maintenance of a clean, secure therapeutic environment in cooperation with a variety of disciplines, most importantly the nursing staff.Key Responsibilities:- Assist in individual needs assessment, treatment plan formulation and implementation, if necessary, for Road to Home- Report all pertinent observations, changes in physical signs or symptoms, changes in emotional behavior and consumer’s eating habits to the Charge/Unit Nurse.- Ability to successfully complete initial and annual Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) defensive technique training and verbal de-escalation training.- Monitor the self-administration of medication for assigned programs- The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.- Escort and monitor consumers to areas outside the unit to complete routine lab work or attend outings, as necessary.- Assist in the management of impulsive, violent or uncooperative consumers.- Carry out assigned duties in caring for consumers who require more than routine observation and care.-Take vital signs routinely, and as indicated by the Unit Nurse, and report any significant changes or elevations.Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent is required.Required Experience:- Minimum of two years of experience working in a behavioral health setting.- Experience in crisis intervention and management.- Previous experience working with individuals with mental health disorders or substance abuse issues.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.- Proficient in basic computer applications and electronic health records.- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions under pressure.- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.- Empathy and compassion in dealing with clients facing challenging circumstances.LifeStream BenefitsHealth/Dental/Vision InsuranceShort Term DisabilityPension Plan403(b)Paid Time Off (Over 4 weeks your 1st year!)Flexible Work SchedulesTuition Reimbursement ProgramFree Telehealth ServicesHRSA Loan Forgiveness ProgramAnd More!Important NoticeAs part of our hiring process and in compliance with Section 435.04, Florida Statutes, certain positions require a Level 2 background screening.
