Job summary

Mesa Public Schools seeks a Behavioral Support Specialist to provide direct and consultative support to schools, improving behavioral outcomes, climate, and safety through tiered supports within the Mesa Public Schools Behavioral Support Framework.

You will collaborate with site administrators, staff, and families to build capacity for behavior prevention, intervention, and data-based problem solving, ensuring alignment with district expectations for consistency and safe student supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and AZ certification are required.
• Three years of experience in behavior intervention or related services.
• Experience with MTSS and data-driven decision making preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements behavioral strategies in accordance with BACB guidelines and MPS policies.
• Conducts classroom observations and develops PBIPs and reinforcement systems.
• Partners with behavior analysts for complex cases and FBA planning.
• Supports teachers in establishing routines and data-driven classroom management.
• Maintains documentation and compliance with ADE/IDEA processes.
• Attends MTSS and IEP meetings as needed.
• Communicates with parents and school teams regarding progress.
