Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, AZ seeks a Behavior Support Assistant to provide Applied Behavior Analysis-based support for students with autism. You will implement learning programs under BCBA supervision, collect data, and collaborate with the Coordinator of Specialized Programs to meet behavioral objectives.

The role requires a High School Diploma, strong communication, and the ability to handle stressful situations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience with students with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities in a school setting preferred.
• Experience in applying behavior intervention techniques and crisis management.
• Ability to work with staff and parents; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Implement learning programs (communication, self-help, and play skills) as written by the BCBA.
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Gather behavioral data to track progress and modify plans as needed.
• Respond to problem behaviors according to behavior plans and district policies.
• Assist with supervision and transitions across campus; support safe learning environment.
