Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs in K-12 settings. You will implement and monitor behavior plans, record data, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent support.

The role requires strong de-escalation skills, safety-focused judgment, and the ability to work one-on-one with students as outlined in their IEP. Training and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; preferred experience in educational settings implementing behavioral interventions.
• Experience supporting students with intensive behavioral needs, including physical aggression.
• Strong de-escalation skills, sound judgment under pressure, and ability to safely perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP.
• Develop and modify behavior support plans; implement them and track data.
• Utilize behavior support strategies and intervention techniques.
• Apply de-escalation, crisis management, and, if necessary, physical restraints to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed based on student needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
